As the world shifts to a low‑carbon future, demand for solar panels, wind turbines and electric‑vehicle batteries continues to rise—and with it, the need for the critical minerals that make them possible such as cobalt, copper, lead, lithium, manganese, nickel and zinc.

Sustainability

While we manufacture low-carbon products and support our customers in achieving their sustainability goals, our pioneering decarbonisation technologies have made significant impacts across our industry. Furthering our commitment, we have set a target to power our business with 100 per cent renewable electricity by 2024—with an interim target of 60 per cent by 2030.

The company was founded in Deer Park, Victoria, Australia as a supplier of explosives in the goldfields of Victoria, Australia.
1998
After more than a century of explosives and chemicals expertise, and several acquisitions and name-changes, Orica was incorporated.
2000s
