Orica Yarwun makes an important contribution to the local and broader community. The site employs more than 200 permanent employees and contractors in the Gladstone area. Our operations play a key role in the Queensland economy, supplying critical products to the mining and infrastructure, agriculture, and other industrial sectors.
Orica acknowledges the community interest in our Yarwun operations and aims for open and transparent communications with all stakeholders. This means listening to, acknowledging and responding to all concerns, comments, questions and feedback we receive from our neighbours and the wider community. It also means sharing information in way that meets the expectations of stakeholders.
Orica Yarwun is committed to working with the neighbouring and wider community of Gladstone to provide regular information on our activities and to support community groups through sponsorship and community investment. We inform the community of our activities via fact sheets (see below) and media releases.
