What is a Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU™)?
A Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU™) is a specially designed truck or trailer that stores, blends and delivers bulk explosives directly into blastholes on bench. It carries raw materials (such as emulsion, AN prill and fuels) and uses on-board systems to accurately manufacture and charge the explosive at the blast site. MMUs help improve safety, productivity and blast quality by reducing manual handling and providing precise, repeatable loading.
What are Surface Delivery Systems?
Surface delivery systems are on-bench charging solutions that safely and efficiently deliver bulk explosives to surface mining, quarrying and construction operations. They include:
- High-capacity MMUs for large open cut mines
- Flexible units for quarries and smaller operations
- Specialised systems for particular blast conditions (e.g. water, hot ground, difficult access)
