Design for Outcome (DfO) applies machine learning to automatically classify rock into blastability domains which enable the generation of tailored drill and blast designs. When applied to drill sensor data, DfO generates relative hardness domains and connects them into a fully integrated workflow. From drills through to bulk explosive delivery systems, DfO matches explosive energy to rock hardness, increasing productivity and reducing costs.

Using drilling data already collected on site
Modern production drills collect detailed measurements along the entire length of the blast hole. Design for Outcome makes use of this data - which is often underutilised - to better understand rock conditions before blasting.
Practical blast designs tailored to the bench
By translating drilling responses into blastability domains, Design for Outcome allows engineers to adapt explosive loading to the conditions encountered during drilling. This results in blast designs that better reflect the actual rock mass rather than relying on uniform assumptions across the bench.
